AND THEY LIVED…

Everyone has a story… sometimes sweet and simple, sometimes with complicated twists and turns… but sometimes when the words are repeated too often it loses its shine and sparkle… And so it is with the story of a girl who grew up on a farm in Africa, who sailed the Caribbean Sea with her family, and the adventures and the conflicts… And so the time has come to bind it up and put it away, for a time, till it can gather dust… because, as strange as it sounds – dust brings shine.

And so to the next book…

On an island off of the coast of Belize, after an impassioned courtship,  a married couple – who aren’t quite young,  but not quite old either – stand at the steps of a beautiful barn cottage, the summation of hard work, sweat and toil, and above all – many blessings from a Loving God.

And that is just the beginning…

That story is still writing itself and will be told one day, with eager little ears listening, and happy hands clapping with delight, as the past weaves into the present and wisps off in colorful hope of the future…

But what then? Between the writing  and the telling, between the stories of what was and what is – What is to be said, what is to be written?

I have lived in stories of happily ever afters, only to have reached that far shore to find that wild jungles lie beyond.

No tamed beasts of tempered emotions await there, but life more fragile and complex exists.

And so a new story needs to be written – one that tells of what I have learnt, of the new thoughts, and that which I still need to discover – because questions have their value too…
